Gil boasts extensive experience with the United States youth national teams, having represented his country at the Under-17, -18, -20 and -23 levels. He represented the US at both the U-17 and U-20 World Cups, scoring an impressive goal against Spain in the latter. Gil moved from RSL to Liga MX's Queretaro on a free transfer at the end of the 2015 season. During his time in Mexico he made 10 league appearances for los Gallos Blancos, plus four in Copa MX play.
