Check donation to the USO on Military Appreciation Night

Rapids, Coca-Cola, Wal-Mart donate $10,000 to USO

As part of Military Appreciation Night, the Colorado Rapids teamed up with Coca-Cola and Wal-Mart to create a special ticket offer to raise money for the United Services Organization, Rocky Mountain Chapter. Thanks to everyone that participated in the program, these three organizations presented the USO with a $10,000 check prior to kickoff of the Rapids match versus Seattle on Saturday.

Rapids President Tim Hinchey and Coca-Cola Sales Director John Edge presented the check to USO Program Director Linda Lorenzana, who was also joined by the following representatives from the five military branches:

Representing the United States Army, Lt. Colonel William Rose, commander of the Denver Army recruiting battalion

Representing the United States Army from the 759th Military Police Battalion, Sergeant Christopher Logan.

Representing the United States Air Force from Schriever Air Force Base, Senior Airman Brittany Luce.

Representing the United States Navy from the Peterson Air Force Base, Petty Officer Second Class Montgomery Steen.

Representing the United States Marine Corps, Sergean Travis Hearne.

Representing the United States Coast Guard from the Peterson Air Force Base, Chief Petty Officer Troy Thomas.
