Rapids advance to Round Two of Business Journal's Social Madness charity competition

If there's a title to be won, the Colorado Rapids want to win it.

For the past week, Denver-area businesses have been going head-to-head to see who does this social media thing the best, and the Rapids are leading the way just as Round Two gets underway.

The Colorado Rapids have entered the Denver Business Journal’s Social Madness contest to support the American Diabetes Assocation. The nationwide bracket-style competition - in which fans vote for their favorite companies - begins in the Business Journals' 43-local markets before moving on to the national round.

Round One took place from June 3-June 17 in which the Rapids and other local companies were evaluated on their respective social media outreach. The Rapids made it to the Top Eight in Denver’s large company category and, as the #7 seed, are facing #2 Perky Jerky in Round Two, which began on June 18.

Which ever company receives the most online votes through June 24 will advance to Round Three, which is scheduled for June 25-July 1. The final round will take July 2-8. The area winners in each category will be announced on July 9 and move on to the national Business Journals competition starting on July 16.
