The Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer and Transamerica have signed a sponsorship agreement that will feature the financial services company’s logo on the Rapids uniforms throughout the 2015 and 2016 seasons. The agreement was brokered by Denver-based Impression Sports & Entertainment (www.impressionsports.com).
The Rapids will debut jerseys featuring Transamerica in their home opener against New York City FC on Saturday, kickoff scheduled for 2p.m. MT at Dick’s Sporting Good Park in Commerce City.
“We are truly grateful and excited to announce this new global partnership with Transamerica. Transamerica has wonderful history with an iconic brand that is poised to make a significant impact in our club, our sport, our league and here in Colorado,” said Tim Hinchey, President of the Colorado Rapids Soccer Club.
“As someone who grew up in the San Francisco Bay area, the Transamerica Pyramid is a true landmark and I couldn’t be more delighted to welcome such a company into our family of great partners. This is another historic moment for our club and a great example of where we are heading.”
“All of us at KSE are so very excited to welcome Transamerica into our family of sponsors,” added Tom Philand, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. “This is another important achievement for the Rapids, and to have such a well-respected global company such as Transamerica come on board and take over as our new shirt sponsor speaks to the continued growth and relevance of this franchise. On behalf of everyone associated with Kroenke Sports we are proud to be associated with Transamerica and we look forward to helping them grow their business throughout North America and beyond.”
Transamerica is one of the world's leading financial services companies, providing insurance, investments and more to 19.5 million customers. They were founded in 1904 in San Francisco by a young entrepreneur, A.P. Giannini, and, in 1972, the Transamerica Pyramid claimed its famous place in the city’s skyline. This important partnership cements Colorado as a developing center for their operation.
“We are a company with a history of helping individuals and families today as well as tomorrow. That includes a strong commitment to delivering for our customers and supporting the communities our employees and customers live in,” said Blake Bostwick, the Denver-based Chief Marketing Officer of Transamerica’s Investments and Retirement division. “Soccer is a great fit for Transamerica as we recognize the role sports play in all our lives. We are excited to partner with the Colorado Rapids and Major League Soccer as it continues to expand and flourish.”
The Transamerica logo will be featured on the club’s primary and secondary match jerseys throughout the next two seasons as well as around the stadium at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Financial terms of the sponsorship deal were not disclosed.
The Transamerica companies offer a wide array of innovative financial services and products with a common purpose: to help individuals, families, and businesses build, protect and preserve their hard-earned assets. With more than a century of experience, they have built a solid reputation on solid management, sound decisions and consumer confidence. For more information, visit www.Transamerica.com.
