The teams will play 11v11, with each half lasting 15 minutes. There will be a five minute halftime. The teams have received coaching, instruction, and mentoring from both Colorado Rapids and Columbus Crew SC players.

This exchange program not only provides Special Olympics athletes with top-level training and competitive experiences, but also offers MLS fans an opportunity to witness the talents and abilities of Special Olympics Colorado soccer players’ first-hand.

The Rapids Special Olympics team held their tryouts on April 8 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, and selected a 20-person roster, with several new faces this season. Only 16 of the 20 athletes will travel for their one road game, but all will be present for the two home matches.

Through the generosity and financial support of our corporate partners Adidas, Cardel Homes, Coca-Cola, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Transamerica, the program has continued to grow each year.
