Report: Two late goals keeps Rapids U23 unbeaten streak alive against FC Boulder

Goals from Robby Jacobs and Edward Venta-Yepes late in the second half pushed the Colorado Rapids U23 unbeaten run to three matches, as they topped FC Boulder 3-1 inside Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Tuesday afternoon.

Both of Jacobs and Venta-Yepes goals were assisted by Josh Goss who opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 33rd minute. The story shifted in the 75th minute when FC Boulder equalized with a penalty kick of their own.

Minutes later, Goss found Jacobs with space on the right flank, who found himself one on one with FC Boulder's keeper. Jacob took one last look up before burying a shot in the back of the net for the first time this campaign.

Also notching his first goal with the U23s, Venta-Yepes was able to get the end of a perfect crossed ball from Goss, putting the home side up for good in stoppage time.

The Colorado Rapids U23s travel on Thursday (June 15) to St. Pius X High School to take on Albuquerque Sol for a match at 6:15 PM MT.
