Development Academy Update: U-14s score 18 goals in three matches

Connor Miller struck a hattrick, and Alan Salgado grabbed a brace, as the Rapids’ Development Academy U-14s crushed Pride SC 6-0 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.

Darren Yapi was also on the scoresheet, to add to the goal he managed the previous weekend in a 4-0 win at Colorado Rush.

The U-14s went even better on Sunday, trouncing Arsenal Colorado 8-0 in Fort Collins.

Six seemed to be the magic number on Saturday, as the U-13s also hit the half dozen in their 6-2 success over Pride. Not to be outdone, the younger players also had a hattrick hero in the form of Kevin Tlaxcalteco. Other goals came from Jonah Elstad, Graham Goodson, and Sureel McCain.

Things were a little tighter the following day, with the U-13s losing 2-1 at Arsenal Colorado.

The two U-12s teams won all four games at the weekend, netting 17 goals while giving up just two. They overcame Pride SC 3-1 and 2-0 on Saturday. Both sides then slammed in six on Sunday, defeating Arsenal Colorado 6-1 and 6-0 respectively.

All three age groups head to FC Boulder on Saturday, for games at Pleasant View Soccer Fields.

The U-18/19s, U-16/17s and U-15s are not in action again until September 23, when they all visit Real Colorado in Highlands Ranch for their second game of the season.
