The Colorado Rapids have acquired midfielder Jack Price from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Here are three things to know about the 25-year-old midfielder …
1. He learned the game in the Wolverhampton academy
The Shrewsbury native joined the Wolverhampton academy at the age of seven. When Price was 16 years old he was named to Wolves U-23 team where he appeared in 54 games and tallied one goal and five assists in two seasons before signing his first professional contract in 2011. The midfielder made his senior debut for the club on August 10, 2013 as a substitute in a 4-0 win over Gillingham.
2. He helped Wolves get promoted back to the Championship
Price made his first impact with Wolves during his rookie campaign, as they were promoted back to the English Championship during the 2013-14 season. During that campaign they set a club record of 103 points and won the League One title. Price was on loan with Yeovil Town F.C. during the middle of the campaign where he made seven appearances and delivered two assists before being recalled to Wolves. When the 25-year-old returned to Wolves, he made 26 appearances and added three assists. Price's influence continued to grow during the 2015-16 season, where he was the runner up for the Supporters’ Player of the Season award.
3. His passing and persistence were on display at Wolves
During his time in Wolverhampton, Price made a total of 115 appearances, scoring two goals and delivering four assists. This previous season, he made five appearances in the Championship and completed 60 passes with a pass accuracy of 92 percent, of which 60 percent were forward passes.
