When he was acquired by the Rapids on January 9, 2018, midfielder Jack Price had never visited the Mile High City, or Colorado for that matter. It didn't take long for the Shrewsbury, England native to fall in love with the culture, food and scenery of his his new home and specifically the Cherry Creek neighborhood where he resides with his girlfriend Lauren. We caught up with the 2018 Rapids MVP following the conclusion of his first MLS season.

Jack, how are you liking Colorado so far? How is it different from back home in Shrewsbury?

The people are so friendly everywhere in Colorado. Everyone here is so nice. I think that has helped me and my girlfriend in settling in. It’s easy to make friends because everyone talks to you. We’ve got a pool at the top of our apartment building, and families will be up there and they’ll just talk to you.

How are you and Lauren liking your current neighborhood?

We love Cherry Creek. It’s easy to go out and have a bite to eat. The restaurants are nice, and the people are lovely. The neighborhood is so clean which makes it easy to walk around – I’m loving it. It's ideal for the two of us.

How would you describe the vibe of Cherry Creek to your friends back home?

It’s a very chill neighborhood. It’s not so rowdy like the others. Everyone is constantly outside enjoying themselves, but it’s not too hectic. It’s a very friendly environment to live in.

What does a typical off-day look like for you?

On a typical day off, I like going out for a bite to eat with the missus and take a stroll around our neighborhood. There’s a couple of nice shopping malls around that we'll drive to. If we're being adventurous we like to go to the Cherry Creek Reservoir, you can rent boats there.  That being said, I don’t like to do too much on my days off because we work hard enough on the other days.

You mentioned that you like to go out to eat - any favorite local spots for a cheat day? Date night?

North Italia in Cherry Creek is my favorite place to eat on a cheat day. I absolutely love their chicken parmesan. For a special date night, I like to take Lauren to El Five in the Highlands. Their sausage paella is incredible, plus the view from their rooftop is really nice.

What kind of hobbies do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to play golf and go shopping. I haven’t played a lot this year, but when we do go I like to play over at Buffalo Run. Apart from that, I enjoy playing Call of Duty and Madden on my PlayStation. Madden has been helpful in teaching me the rules of American football.

If your friend had 24 hours in Denver, what would you recommend they do?

I would tell them to go explore the mountains. When I first moved here we went up to see the Arapaho Basin ski slopes. It was lovely. If they wanted to stay local I'd recommend walking around Wash Park. There are tons of families around there walking their dogs. If you're a dog lover like me that place is really nice. Otherwise, we've got great shopping at the Cherry Creek Mall or I'd tell them to grab a beer and watch a football game at the Thirsty Lion.
