Archive: Wynne shows love for cats in visit to animal shelter

Marvell Wynne was in the news this week when the club announced that he had signed a new deal to remain in Colorado. The first thing that many think of with regard to Wynne is his strength and his speed. See video to the right for reference. 


But one aspect of the 26-year-old that some may not know is that he has a soft side. He likes cats. Really likes them - he has five of his own.

A few years ago Wynne and then-teammate Danny Earls visited the Cat Care Society in Lakewood, Colo. Wynne left such an impression on the staff there, that a couple of months later, when a 10-week-old abandoned and abused kitten was brought in and rescued, the staff named him Marvell. The kitten survived and became a great success story after his recovery and adoption.

Last summer Altitude TV shot a halftime feature to better show Wynne's love of cats with host Julie Bowman and the defender visiting the Dumb Friends League animal shelter in Denver. Take a look at the archived video:
