“We expect the Colorado Rapids match on Saturday night against FC Dallas to proceed as scheduled at 7:00 p.m. at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, as the stadium and surrounding parking lots have not suffered any damage. As always, we will continue to monitor the situation to make sure that our event is safe for fans, staff and players.
We will be updating our website (www.ColoradoRapids.com) and social media sites (www.facebook.com/ColoradoRapids and www.twitter.com/ColoradoRapids) throughout Friday and Saturday to keep fans informed about travel routes and road closures, parking options, and any other pertinent information about the match.”
UPDATE 9/13 5:00 p.m. :: With local authorities working throughout the day on Friday, combined with sunny and warm weather throughout the day in the area, we anticipate few road closures in the area ahead of Saturday night’s match between the Colorado Rapids and FC Dallas. However, we do encourage fans to leave extra time to travel to the stadium.
One anticipated closure on Saturday will be the eastbound off-ramp at Quebec St. on I-70, with alternate exits either before the Quebec exit at Colorado or Monaco, or after at Central Park Blvd. A section of I-70 further east, between Pecos and I-25, is also expected to be closed due to previously scheduled construction.
We will provide another update on Saturday afternoon with additional information, if available.
UPDATE 9/14 4:15 p.m. :: With improved conditions on Saturday morning, there are no further updates to the previous message. The eastbound I-70 off-ramp at Quebec St. remains closed, as expected, as does I-70 between Pecos and I-25 due to previously scheduled construction. Earlier today, Colorado Department of Transportation tweeted the following:
