Colorado Rapids Soccer Club announced today that it has acquired forward Jack McBean from LA Galaxy in exchange for a conditional fourth round selection in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft. The young goal scorer will be added to the club’s supplemental roster.
The Newport Beach, California native was originally signed to a Homegrown contract by the Galaxy in 2011 and at 16 became the youngest player in club history to appear, start and score a goal.
In seven professional seasons, McBean appeared in 37 games (17 starts) for the Galaxy, tallying four goals and three assists along the way. From 2014-17, McBean would also register 27 goals in 82 appearances for LA Galaxy II.
In coming to Colorado, McBean joins a Rapids front line already consisting of 2017 signing Stefan Aigner, formerly of Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga, and Senegalese striker Dominique Badji who tallied a career high nine goals last season.
The MLS offseason continues with Stage One of the MLS Re-Entry Draft set to take place on Friday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. MT. Stage Two of the MLS Re-Entry Draft will take place next Thursday, December 21 at 12:00 p.m. MT.
