Help Send Aid To Hurricane Katrina Victims at Saturday's Game

DENVER (August 31 2005) - The Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation announced today that the organization will be collecting cash donations at Saturday's Colorado Rapids home game vs. DC United at Invesco Field to aid victims of this week's Hurricane Katrina tragedy.

Rapids fans will be able to donate money to Rapids Foundation volunteers outside Gate 10 and at the Rapids Soccer Celebration area at the stadium before the match this Saturday which kicks off at 7:00pm.

All monies that the Rapids Foundation collect will be donated to the American Red Cross to directly aid victims of this week's Hurrican Katrina disaster in the Louisiana Alabama and Mississippi areas.

Every eight minutes another family needs American Red Cross disaster relief. Right now the Red Cross is on the scene in the south directly helping families affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The Red Cross is able to respond to thousands of disasters across the country each year because of your donations to the Disaster Relief Fund which enable the Red Cross to provide shelter food counseling and other assistance to those in need.

The Rapids Foundation would like to remind fans that your help is needed right now. Your financial gift to the Disaster Relief Fund will ensure that the Red Cross can continue to be at the side of disaster victims with free and immediate assistance when it’s needed most.

Please bring your cash donations to the game Saturday and look for the Colorado Rapids Community Care Foundation volunteers to make a contribution to assist the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
