Count Colorado Rapids midfielder Vicente Sanchez as another fan of the Denver Broncos and their future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.

Sanchez was a guest of ESPN Deportes at the Broncos' Monday Night Football game against the Oaklands Raiders and got a chance to see his team up close.

"I got a call from my friend John (Sutcliffe) that together with ESPN they wanted to do an interview and they decided to do it at the Broncos game," Sanchez told on Tuesday. "It was a good coincidence because, although I'm not a super fan, I always followed the Broncos when I was playing in Mexico."

Sanchez watched the first half of Denver's 37-21 win from the press box and then joined ESPN sideline reporter John Sutcliffe for an interview at field level in the third quarter.

"To watch Peyton Manning, a player who will remain in the history of everything about the sport - I think his career marked a before and after of American football. So to watch him in person, up close, was really nice," said Sanchez, who attended his first-ever NFL game in person.

After doing his interview on international TV and watching the action from up close, the Uruguayan said he contemplated - for minute - what position he would have played had football been an option.

"I was thinking about that," he said, laughing. "I think I'd be the kicker - the guy that only comes in to kick. The hits are hard and they play rough. It's nice to watch it, and it's one thing to watch from the stands, but standing on the field and seeing how hard they hit each other, one maybe doesn't realize it but the tackles are hard."
