Update: Hundley's four-goal performance solidifies U-18/19s unbeaten streak

Four goals from Matthew Hundley helped the Colorado Rapids U-18/19s turn their fortunes around at home to Houston Dynamo on Sunday in their Development Academy encounter in a 5-2 win.

The visitors took the lead after 13 minutes through Heriberto Soto, before the Rapids responded with two goals in two minutes. Gregory Tracey scored the equalizer in the 28th minute, before Hundley handed Chris Martinez’s side the lead at the start of his goal-fest.

When Houston hit their second, the scoreline stood at 3-2, before Hundley added two late goals for a greater margin of victory. Hundley now has eight goals from eight games. The U-18/19s remain the only undefeated side in their conference (5-0-3), with a trip to Dallas Texans on Saturday. This is their last league game before they break until February, though the U-16/17s and U-18/19s have a Winter Showcase event in Florida, starting on November 30.

It took a last-minute equalizer from Noah Boettiger to hand the U-16/17s a 1-1 draw with the Dynamo. Houston had led through Victor Velasco’s goal two minutes before the interval.

The U-15s were also held 1-1 at home by Houston, only in their game it was the Rapids who took the lead, before the Dynamo leveled in the last minute. Adam Perez netted for the Rapids as early as the third minute, but they were unable to hold out for the win, as Ekenedilichukwu Okeke denied them victory late on.

All the other age group teams played Colorado Storm on Saturday. The U-14s won 2-0, as did the U-13s, thanks to first-half goals from Ezekiel Anderson and Sureel McCain. Both U-12s teams were also victorious, winning 5-1 and 3-2 respectively.

While the U-15s, U-16/17s, and U-18/19s are in Texas this weekend, the U-12s, U-13s, and U-14s are home to FC Boulder on Saturday.
